Thinker // Innovator // Creator
Hello, welcome to my website. I developed this website with the extra free time I had during the 2020-2021 Corona-Virus pandemic. I hope you all are keeping well and staying safe.
A bit about the website: The languages used were mainly html, css and a bit of Javascript. The code editor I used was Brackets by Adobe. The code was pushed through git-hub and hosted by netlify.
I am a current student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a bachelor of commerce degree. My expected graduation year will be 2023. I will be studying a specialist major in accounting, and a minor in economics.
I am a Canadian-born-Chinese. I was born in Toronto and grew up in Oakville (GTA). I went to White Oaks Secondary School and completed the International Baccalaureate program there. To be fully honest, coming out of high-school I didn't know what I wanted to do. I applied to practically all the disciplines of education (engineering, business, science, etc.). I found myself blindly choosing business. In the end, I found myself in an introductory accounting course.
I loved it.
Moral of the story, it's ok not having your life planned out or not knowing what you want to do.
Life is to be lived and explored.
I love basketball. I played the sport since middle school and continue to play it recreationally. If you share the same love for the sport, please let me know what you think about the upcoming drafts or season outcomes!
I created this website to expand my network, so please do share it with friends and family. I am looking to engage with many new people and make new friends. You can contact me using any of the options on the contact page. Feel free to reach out and talk about anything!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my website.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Rotman Commerce
Undergrad - Accounting Specialist
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Toronto. As of September 2020 I will be specialising in accounting and pursuing a minor in statistics. I just recently finished my first year in the program and I enjoyed many aspects of it.
I was apart of several student body groups including the Rotman Commerce Toastmasters Association. In this association I refined my public speaking and leadership skills as a student intern. I was also given the opportunity to emcee events.
International Baccalaureate Program
High School Education
I attended White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, Ontario where I achieved my OSSD and International Baccalaureate Diploma. The IB program has a very academically demanding curriculum, it focuses on developing well rounded students. After 4 years of challenging subjects including HL (high-level) biology, english, geography and SL (standard level) math, chemistry, spanish; I gained valuable skills and competencies. Time-management, organization, perseverance are just some of the skills that the IB program targets.
Town of Oakville
Aquatics Instructor
As a aquatics instructor for the Town of Oakville, I was tasked with providing a safe and fun learning space. I taught many children fundamental skills for swimming including front, back and breast stroke. Through this experience I gained a lot of knowledge about leadership, communication, and customer service. There were many unique and challenging situations that I faced, but in the end I was able to overcome these obstacles. This was a valuable work experience as it allowed me to venture into a professional workplace.
AIESEC Toronto
Exchange Participant Manager
Aiesec is an international youth run organization that caters to young people to develop leadership and communication skills. This is accomplished through cross-cultural internship and volunteer opportunities. As an exchange participant manager at Aiesec in Toronto, my job was to facilitate and help other students through the exchange/internship process. Specifically, organizing meetings with interested students and aiding external communications with other Aiesec countries (Brazil, Taiwan etc.)
